SaReGaMaPa in Hangul

Date- 15/09/2017

We sang a verse in Korean with our country groups. So there were the three of us from India, me with Varsha Di and Anamika Di. We prepared well but we got nervous, forgot a lot of it and it was really hilarious.

We also played a game, one person was blindfolded, we gave her the directions in Korean and she had to hit the balloon. There is something new in the Korean class everyday.

They tell us a lot of new words and we do remember a few of them. I am planning to write all the new words I learn in Korean in a diary whenever I get time. Because I just cannot remember so many words all at once.

After the end of two weeks we have learnt  some Korean words, made a few new friends, some small ups and downs, getting along well with my Indian friends and finding a new support system in them because at this point in my life noone can understand me the way they can because we all our probably going through the same.

Its nice being here and I am really glad to have come here with a group of really nice people. Slowly and gradually we are getting to know more about this place.

One thing that we all found a little weird here is that the Koreans sometimes panic even at the sight of small insects. We had heard that from our international friends and we were like seriously.

Today when a small bee entered our classroom, all of us tried to stay away from it because it was near our heads first but the way our Professor tried to kill it was a little strange and weird for us. As we begin to know the Korean culture, there are a lot of beautiful things about this place and people but there are definitely a lot of things that are really strange for us. But I guess thats the whole point of it  and it is a nice experience for me so far and am simply looking forward to my weekend.

A letter to my happy tear

Sometimes we make things so much bigger in our hearts that it becomes impossible for the events to match our anticipation and even the slightest misdirections to our plans end up grounding them altogether. Exactly an year ago, on October 17, my father-in-law called me and told us that our wedding dates had been fixed. It had been a long-distance courtship but as the luck would have it, we were right there together to celebrate the good news. The next four months were probably the happiest period of my life. Even as I felt lonely without him, I would simply count down our days to the wedding. Soon enough, my joy and excitement became too visible. I don't think I have ever taken care of myself any better. I couldn't wait to get married.  I don't think there was a day I didn't think of him before I ended my day. I simply couldn't wait to be his wife. To his credit, it has all been worth it. Even as we are yet to find our way to a shared roof, Akhil you ...

Remember your champions...

Akhil you know I can't go a long time without writing you love letter but am too lazy to visit a post office..so this one is for you... Everytime I am told I am stupid for choosing my passion, I just wanna look at you, remind myself and know we got this and will always find a way... Every time I feel alone or down, seek validation or feel the need to prove myself or my worth...I may take my time but ultimately every ride has taught me how I have my biggest champion at home. Chahe uss din wo kitchen mein bitaye 12 ghante hon ya hours spent on the most basic blog...even if noone else could see, you were the one cheering me on. Even if you were the one taking care of it all, you always ensured I knew we were a team.  At a time, when I almost felt invisible, u were the one who reminded me I mattered. Listened to my rants and then scolded me when u could not see me stay sad anymore. Even if a part of me was torn, you made sure I finally had fun at a wedding.  When I fel...

Inside Gachon University Festival: My Experience as an Exchange Student in South Korea

Gachon University Festival in South Korea is a popular campus event featuring K-pop performances, student activities, and cultural celebrations. Originally experienced in September 2017, Gachon Festival was one of my most memorable experiences during my student exchange programme in South Korea. When people think of South Korea, they often imagine K-pop, K-dramas, street food and bustling cities. I too got a glimpse of that culture and celebration at the Gachon University Festival. It wasn't just about music and performances; it was about seeing thousands of students come together to celebrate, make memories and enjoy a brief break from their demanding academic schedules. I had attended college festivals back home in India, yet I was curious to see how a Korean university festival would compare. What Is the Gachon University Festival? Like many universities in South Korea, Gachon University organises an annual festival where students showcase their talents through music, dance, per...
